Auschwitz survivor, 81 year-old- Eva Kor has demonstrated that we all can learn to forgive and benefit from that forgiveness.
Eva Kor, recently attended the trial of former SS officer Oskar Groening, who is charged with at least 300,000 counts of accessory to murder for the sorting and storing of Jewish prisoners’ money, at the Auschwitz concentration camp. At the trial she embraced Mr Groening but insisted forgiveness doesn’t mean she will ever forget the horror she and her twin sister suffered. Oskar Groening, 94 years old, has been found guilty, and has been sentenced by a German court, to four years in jail.
Eva Kor’s way of thinking and her ability to forgive, is a real inspiration for all of us. If she can forgive her torturers, we all can achieve peace of mind by forgiving those people who may have done things to upset us.
